The diverse tissue and cell types in the body all have their own unique light absorption characteristics; that is, they will only absorb light at specific wavelengths and not at others. For example, skin layers, because of their high blood and water content, absorb red light very readily, while calcium and phosphorus absorb light of different wavelengths.
Super-luminous LEDs, (Light Emitting Diodes), are safe concentrated light sources used to produce the specific wavelengths of light that provide therapeutic benefits of light therapy without adverse side effects.
About Our Founder
Our founder and lead provider is Tiziano Marovino, MPH, is Chief of Health Strategy and Innovation at the Biogenesis Group, a disease management and human performance research center in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he performs clinical research in health economics, measurement studies, and population health. He is an adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, where he teaches differential screening in the DPT program, and is in the graduate Human Performance program at Concordia University in Chicago, IL. Dr. Marovino serves as PPM’s pain device expert.
